>Between this blog and the challenge blog, I refer a lot to my reading of Proverbs. I read through Proverbs every month, alternating translations every couple of months. I have learned so much, and it has taught me the joy and discipline of rereading.

Many of us do not have an unlimited supply of Bibles in various translations to support a habit of alternating reading in a different translation every month or two. So, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite resources.

There are several Bible programs for the computer that allow you to read Scripture, search for verses by keywords, and find study helps. Those are fun and useful. But, two of my favorite general reading resources are completely free.

The first is BibleGateway. Type in the passage you wish to read, and then click on the translation or even the language you wish to read it in! It is easy to copy and paste from the website into a document, and it prints easily if you prefer to read or share it that way.

The second is for BlackBerry users. I joined the BlackBerry world this year, and I was delighted when Doug sent me this link! I’m sure there are such links available for iPhone and other data devices as well, but this is the one I have the link for. It’s called YouVersion, and it also includes some search options.

I know these aren’t the techno-expert’s dream. They are just resource tools to make study of God’s Word that much more accessible to us. Whether it be Proverbs or another book; whether it be many translations or one; I encourage this – get in the Word. Not just to look for verses that pertain to a topic or a situation, but to sit down with a mind and heart open to Him. To sit down with a clean slate upon which He can write and train – a softened clay which he can mold and firm in His likeness. His Word truly is alive!

I am a homeschooling preacher's wife and managing editor for the Well Planned Gal. But, I also love to write just for the fun of it. I also process best through writing, and my thoughts tend to flow from things I learn through the Bible, interacting with my family, and moving through life in general. Thanks for joining me in my not quite ordinary journey.

What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear from you!
