>Sharing Something Good

>

Do you ever experience something so good that you just feel like you’re going to explode if you don’t share it?  Something that you know will bless another person greatly, and you are so giddy about it that you just can’t wait?

This world doesn’t hold many things that are that good.  In fact, as I sit here and think about it, the things that I have hungered to share that much have all been things that somehow relate to drawing us closer to our heavenly Father.  And I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be.

I think that’s how Jesus felt.

One of my favorite longer passages of Scripture is Jesus’ prayer in John 17.  It is my opinion that His love for us shines more boldly and passionately in those words than in any other passage of Scripture, save the narrative of the cross.

I was recently reading something that referenced back to John 17:24.  As I read this verse, I could almost hear the excitement, hunger, and anticipation in Jesus’ voice.  Read with me these words from His prayer…

Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.  Jn 17:24 (NASB)

Jesus knew where He was going, and He knew what it was like.  He also knew the contrast between where we are now and our true home.  He knew the love of God for us, and He carried that love Himself.  In that moment, He wanted to share with us the wonderful presence of His Father.

Jesus knew something so amazing that it gave Him the drive to face and endure the cross so that we could share in the joy with Him.  And because of that sacrifice, we will get the chance to share in what He knew.  I can’t even begin to fathom what it will be like to be in the full presence of the Father, but I know I’ve caught Jesus’ excitement – and I can’t wait to be there!

I am a homeschooling preacher's wife and content editor for the Well Planned Gal. But, I also love to write just for the fun of it. I also process best through writing, and my thoughts tend to flow from things I learn through the Bible, interacting with my family, and moving through life in general. Thanks for joining me in my not quite ordinary journey.

What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear from you!
