As Mother’s Day draws nearer, numerous gift items to honor Mom will be hitting the store shelves. Included in those gift items will be books aimed at bringing encouragement to the hearts of our mothers.
Time with God for Mothers from Thomas Nelson Publishers is just such a book. A compilation of very brief devotional thoughts, Time with God for Mothers is intended to bring encouragement in a quick glance. Each page includes a Scripture and a single-paragraph devotional thought based on the Scripture. The jewelry of Elly Preston decorates each page, heightening the visual experience of reading the devotional. A topical index of Scripture verses, divided by motherhood-related themes, can be found at the end of the book, followed by a few pages for notes.
This devotional is, by nature, a very lighthearted one. It is not intended to be a deep spiritual growth tool. But this could be a beautiful gift for the mother who enjoys grabbing quick spiritual encouragement in the midst of her busy day.
