A friend who read Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst had told me what a wonderful book it was, so when I saw the devotional version of the book up for review, I thought I’d check it out. Still intending to read Unglued, I was curious if the devotional required reading the book first or if it was capable of standing on its own.
Unglued Devotional definitely is capable of standing on its own. Unlike many other contemporary devotionals, this one had me hooked from day one. In fact, there were many days I couldn’t resist turning the page and reading the next entry. I finished the book in about forty days instead of sixty because I just kept right on reading!
Lysa TerKeurst’s honesty in Unglued Devotional left me feeling understood. She in no way pretends to have it all figured out. In fact, much of the content of her book shares her own struggles, even knowing the best way to keep from coming unglued in daily life. What she shares is her journey, not her triumph.
Because this is a devotional rather than the actual book, many of her points are very brief. Anyone who desires to see these points covered in greater depth will want to read Unglued as well. For women who simply want an encouraging, yet challenging, daily devotional, however, I definitely recommend Unglue Devotional.
I received this book from Book Sneeze in exchange for my honest review. A positive endorsement was not required.
